Cities With Great Real Estate Values in Europe and America

Cities like NY, London, San Francisco, Tokyo, etc. have become far too expensive for average people to buy flats there (and renting is difficult too for that matter). By contrast, I was recently in Chicago and was astounded by how cheap property is there. Here are some examples:

Property in most of America is cheap (excluding NY, Boston, SF, LA and DC). Also, certain cities in Continental Europe, such as Munich, seem inexpensive to me compared to Tokyo, NY, London, etc. For that matter, my friend rents a nice 2 bedroom apartment in Montparnasse in Paris for 1,100 Euros per month.

Can people post samples of properties in their cities that are affordable to average people?>
